Abstract:The of Maine embodies the confrontation between historical law and classical natural law. Though the conclusion of ‘from identity to contract’ is classical, we should pay more attentions to the historical law method to reach the conclusion. The reason why is classical is that it promotes people to perceive law in historical perspective, which guides to a revolutionary of law method.
